My DigitalJobsPH Training

Currently, I am attending the DigitalJobsPH Training sponsored by DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology) and co-sponsored by DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) and LGU (Local Government Unit).  The training highlights the scholars to learn the basics of digital marketing - from web designing, to photo editing,  to social media management and marketing.

I first learned about this training through a Facebook post.  I immediately applied with a thought that this training could be of major help for my freelancing career.  I went through their screening process - exam and interview - and luckily, I was chosen as one of the trainees! Yey!

We had our orientation last August 13.  I got more excited because I learned that we will be paired up with an MSME whose business we will do a marketing campaign.  My thought that time was, "Wow, an add-on for my portfolio.  Indeed, a good way to advance my freelancing career."

Let me backtrack a bit about my freelancing career.  It started as a part-time job way back in 2010 doing transcription and data entry on the sides.  Later on, I decided to do it full-time.  I really enjoyed it at that time since I have flexible time and the compensation was good.  However, as time passes by, I realized the need to learn new skills as a lot of people nowadays are into freelancing.  There's also no career growth if I stick into doing transcription job.

I then started looking for online courses for Virtual Assistance, Social Medial Management, and the like.  It was then when I read through a post on Facebook about this DigitalJobsPH Training.

Now, back to the training.

Week 1. I really thought it would be easy, but it wasn't.  I really had difficulty setting up the webpage for the products of my MSME. One reason might be because I was getting used to doing repetitive jobs.  I was overwhelmed by the tasks that I have to finish for a week.

Week two. I started to get upset.  New tasks - what the heck! I  haven't even finished my tasks on the first week.  My anxiety level was at its peak!

Week three.  More tasks, as expected.  But no, I don't want my anxiety to take over my desire to finish the course.  So I decided to take one step at a time, grab as much learning as I can, and deal with the difficult ones later.

Week four.  So here I am writing a blog about the training.  Stress level going down and just enjoying each day of the training.

Training will be over a few weeks from now.  I still have several tasks to comply to but I am taking it ONE STEP AT A TIME.
